Philosophy
At Ravenhill Herb Farm we believe that raising animals in their natural environment is best for both their health and happiness. Our chickens are free to roam our property, where they search bugs, seeds and leaves, staying close to their natural diets. We supplement their diet with scraps from a local grocery store that we visit weekly. Our birds our heritage breeds, laying glorious shades or green, blue, brown, rose, and cream eggs. We never kill chickens for their feathers.
We started this company to share the beauty of our feathered friends. Although we are primarily and educational farm, hosting tours for preschool groups to seniors, and teaching sustainable and regenerative farming practices courses. We are also proud to be one the of primary sites of Pacific Rim College’s “Permaculture Design & Resilient Ecosystems” program that takes place years from February through November.
